If I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life it would be salsa. I'm not ashamed to admit I have had salsa for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Luckily I don't have to only eat one thing for the rest of my life and hopefully neither do you.
Salsa is a perfect addition to so many different meals you create. You can add it to an omelet, or top it on a salad, the possibilities are endless. I like to add a little bit of meat to the salsa and snack on it all day long.
Let's get started! I prefer to use a blender to make my salsa but if you prefer a chunky salsa skip the blending steps and chop ingredients to your liking.
Ingredients:
8 Roma tomatoes or whatever tomato you prefer.
1 jalapeño seeded unless you want to add a bit of spicy
1 tbsp of lime juice
3 tbsp of minced garlic
1/2 a yellow onion or whatever onion you prefer.
1 cup of fresh cilantro
1 tsp of cumin
1 tsp of chili pepper seasoning
1/2 a green pepper
salt and pepper for taste
Steps:
Chop up all the ingredients and add to blender. Add seasoning and blend to preferred consistency.
Easy peasy! Salsa is a safe recipe to experiment with. You can add or substract ingredients. You can puree it or keep it chunky. The more you experiment the more perfect your recipe becomes.
Do you have an ingredient you love to use in your salsa recipe? Drop it in the comments.
Until next time.

Dawn Colson
