Remember that BBQ sauce we made a few weeks back? Did anyone every think to use it to make homemade Pizza? I remember when my mother first made BBQ Chicken Pizza and I despite her stellar reputation as a cook was skeptical. Oh how I ate my words.
This recipe focuses on the dough. Dough can make or break a pizza, but I've added a section titled Toppings to create the best BBQ Pizza.
Ingredients:
1 1/3 All Purpose Flour
2 tbsp Olive Oil
1/8 tsp Dried Basil
1/8 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Baking Soda
1/2 cup Milk
1/2 tsp salt
Toppings:
BBQ
Chicken
Mushrooms
Mozzarella cheese
Bacon or ham (optional)
Steps:
Mix flour, baking soda, and salt in a a bowl.
Slowly stir in the milk and olive oil until the dough begins to form.
Take dough to a floured surface and knead it for 10 minutes.
Cover dough with a bowl or wrap in Saran Wrap for 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes roll dough into a 12 inch or circle.
Bake crust at 400 for 8-10 minutes.
Layer toppings, BBQ sauce, chicken, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese.
Bake for another 15-20 minutes or until a golden brown.
What do you like on your pizza? Are you a classic pizza fan or do you like to experiment? Drop your favorites in the comments. I would love to hear from you.
