Thousand Island Dressing

Early this month I shared a Rueben Sandwich recipe and wanted to expand on it by sharing a simple Thousand Island Dressing Recipe. Thousand Island Dressing is a key ingredient when stacking your Rueben Sandwich but it can also be added to your hamburgers for creating your version of the McDonald's Big Mac. And if you make too much you can throw it on a salad or use it as a dipping sauce.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tps of white vinegar

  • 2 tbsp of ketchup

  • 1/2 cup of mayonnaise

  • 2 tbsp of sweet pickle relish

  • 1 quarter onion finely diced

  • 1/2 a red pepper finely diced

  • 1 clove of garlic minced

  • 1 hard boiled egg chopped

  • Salt for taste

  • Dash of Chili pepper or Louisiana Hot Sauce (Optional)

Steps:

  1. Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix together.

  2. As you mix add salt for taste or any experimental ingredients such as Louisiana Hot Sauce or chili pepper. If you prefer more egg or garlic you can increase to meet your desired outcome.

  3. Transfer to a mason jar or other storage container. Your dressing will keep for about a week.

What I love the most about homemade dressings is that they are simple and quick to make and they always impress guests.

I hope. you enjoy this simple and quick recipe. Do you make your own dressings or dipping sauce? Drop in the comments your favorites.
